National Children’s Day in India is celebrated on November 14, the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. World Children’s Day is celebrated on November 20th to mark the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959 by the United Nations General Assembly and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989.

Thus, Children’s Week is celebrated to raise awareness about the rights, education, the welfare of children, and to reflect on the progress and challenges children face.
